String Monitor Unit

The String Monitoring Unit improves solar array monitoring by sensing current at the string level. Its comprehensive diagnostic capabilities identify string-level connection and performance issues with remarkable speed and accuracy. By measuring and comparing the individual string currents, faults in the PV generator are detected reliably and analyzed directly. Alongside the measurement of string currents, the SMU features a string fuse protection for positive and negative potential as well as an overvoltage protection device. The SMU can be disconnected using an optionally available DC circuit breaker installed on the output side to the inverter
